"While You Were Sleeping" by Lifesong

Look at the words to this song and really think about them.
This is by Casting Crowns on the album "Lifesong" and is
titled :

" While You Were Sleeping "

Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only Son
The Way, the Truth, the Life had come
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save

Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night

Which Way Maze

Sometimes I feel so lost in all that God is! I just cant seem to find Him. Its like a maze that I cant find my way out of! I often times wish that Paul would just jumb out of the new testament and give me a crash course on Christianity!
When i finally get through the maze how do I know its really Him? How do I know i didnt just take a wrong turn and come out right back at the entrance?
Uhhg its very confusing!

Psalms 39:12
"Hear my prayer, O Lord,
And give ear to my cry;
Do not be silent at my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
A sojourner, as all my fathers were."
Psalms 39:12

Do you ever feel the same way?

Take Me As I Am
  FM Static

This time I finally see the reason why
I can't do this alone
It took some time and concentration
To believe it, this I know.
I need to build my faith sometimes
But I am so comfortable in mine
I'm up there's no more time,
To try to mess with this design

Two nights compete everyone's asleep
and I want to say these words to you
I'll be your hand take me as I am
I just wanna be with you

Take me as I am cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now
I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, cause I'm growing
but its so hard to tell when I'm not used to this so
Take me as I am, cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, Cause I'm growing
but its so hard to tell when I'm not used to this so

I lift my voice to sing out
Let the sound of my heart ring out
These hands aren't holding me down
Never again will I be with out
I need to build my faith sometimes
But I am so comfortable in mine
I'm up there's no more time
To try to mess with this design

Two nights compete everyone's asleep
and I don't want to say these words to you
I'll be your hand take me as I am
I just wanna be with you

Take me as I am, cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now
I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, cause I'm growing
but its so hard to tell when
I'm not used to this so
Take me as I am, cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, cause I'm growing
But its so hard to tell when I'm not used to this soul

Thankful

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I encourage you to find ten things to be thankful for just before you go to bed. You don't have to share them with anyone but, as you are falling asleep thank God for things HE has given you. I am trying this with yall so please give some comments!

1. Healthy Grandparents/family
2. Safe town to live in
3. Woody
4. Clothes and Food - ( did you ever think about how many people go whithout????)
5. Music!
6. Bed (refer back to # 4 )
7. warm house
8. good Christian friends
9. Church
10. Dr. Pepper ( just a fun one but hey , be thankful )

I dare each and every one of you that from now until Thanksgiving you list at least 10 things a day, (they don't have to be general ) that you are especially thankful for.

Risk It All

How many of you have ever been on a zip line or skied down a steep slope? Its exilerating isnt it? But what about before you start? When you're standing all harnessed up about to jump? When you get off that ski lift and look down the hill? Its kinda scary right? You're going to risk life and limb on something you know absolutely nothing about!
God has called us to leave our lives behind and come follow Him. To risk it all on something we know nothing about. Its scary! Sure everyone says its worth your while, but really how do we know that? We've worked hard to get where we are today and now we're told to throw it all away and trust a flimsy little zip line! What if it breaks? Do you realize how many trees there are on that ski slope! It could be disasterous and you want us to try it! Or maybe you really want to follow God to give it all over to Him. But when you get up there and look down that slope fear floods in. What if it wasnt what they say it is? what if i get hurt? Have you ever been in a spot like those? I want to ask you what it was like when you finally decided to trust the zipline? was it worth it? Even if you tumbled on the way down the slope wasnt the rest of it worth it? Once you got going you found it wasn't as bad as you had expected was it? God is most definately worth it! Today i finally decided to make the jump onto the zip line. Ive been scared to death as to what would happen when i decide to start down the hill. The fact that ive started is in itself worth it.
I challenge you to right now, before you do anything else, to take a deep breath and trust your zip line. Dont think about it dont worry about how safe it is just jump I know it will be worth it!

And he saith unto them,
Follow me,
and I will make you fishers of men.
And they straightway
left their nets,
and followed him.
Matthew 4:19-20

Busy, Busy , Busy

Have you ever been so busy you can hardly think? I think everyone has been. You feel caught up in a whirlwind and it feels like it will suck you under. Lately especially Homework, chores, school, church, activites, animals, and obligations are keeping me on my toes and have made me fall a few times from the overwhelming time commitment involved. I like for things to be perfect alot , so , usually that means I spend longer on things than I probably should. While you are having a "Whirlwind Day" as I have dubbed alot of the days gone past, remember, the most inportant thing to do is to have your daily quiet time with God. Without it, you Will be disfunctional and will probably make desicions you will later regret. If you want to have a quiet time , but dont know how, start in proverbs and read 1 chapter a day and pray. Or if you will go to a Christian bookstore there are usually bible study books specifically made for your age group , these are extremely neat to go through, one I found inspirating is called Pure by Rebekah St. James. ...

Know that I am God

This Sunday I was asked why I am Christian. I replied "because I know God is real". "But how do you know He is real?" they asked.

How do we know God is real? How do we know this isn't all just made up? I say look around you! There are miracles happening all the time. People who had deadly diseases woke up without a sign that they were sick! Disasters happen and no one gets hurt! Don't tell me those people were just lucky or that its coincidence. How can God not be real? Just look at creation! That did not happen by accident!

We are told in Psalms 46: 10 to Be still and know that I am God. when was the last time you took time out to look around at Gods work? You may find His hand in places you never would have expected.

How do you know God is real?
plz share you thoughts

Eek! talk God! Scary

Why is it that we all seem afraid to talk about God? Everything goes fine until we are asked question about our faith. Where im from there is a church on nearly every street you can literally look out a window and see two or three churches. most people attend church and more still claim Christ. You would think we would have no problem talking about our Lord but yet whenever a question is asked the whole room falls quiet. I think for me its cause God is personal. To talk about Him is like sharing many of my deepest secrets. I'm scared about what people will say. I recently went through a time in my life when I wasn't sure about some stuff. I often sought my Bible but i never told anyone. When i finally did I found out i didn't need to fight this fight. A friend of mine is going through a similar struggle she has shared and has received the same advice I did but with half the pain. We are called to live a life as a community we can not do this on our own. Part of being a Christian is supporting others. How can we support the lost when we never get a chance to practice on the found? I want to urge you to share with others your hurts and pains and that when someone else shares theirs that you would be the first one to comfort them. This is what Faithblog-ej is about, being a community, this is supposed to be a place that you can pour out your hearts to fellow believers. no one can point and laugh at you no one will ever know who said it but they will reach out and support you. who else can we turn to if not our sisters and brothers in Christ? Please share your thoughts .

Life

Have you ever heard the song "Sounds Like Life to Me"? I think this song is very appropriate especially for this day and age. Some weeks are really awesome and wonderful. Everything can go according to plan and everyone shows up. You can win all your games, and make a's in every subject. But yet other weeks can go terrible. I've had weeks like that before. Just when you think things could never get worse they do.
Just think though, we have such an amazing God all we need to do is hold on through the tough and hard times and make it through... with God Almighty's help in our lives. Only when we give him total and complete control will things seem right, even though it might all look wrong to other people. And, of course, remember this is only the world that we are in now. Because of sin, things are going to go wrong, people get sick and die, you do terrible in school or athletics or band, or maybe you just seem to keep getting in trouble.
Just hold on and remember this is just a momentary life , a momentary trouble and that it will pass .

Check Out This Song

Hey if you all haven't heard the song by John Waller called
ummmm something like Im waiting or waiting on you
you really need to listen to it.

Forget It or Forgive It?

A couple of years ago a friend said something that really hurt my feelings. Instead of forgiving him like I should have I convinced myself that he really didn't do anything, that it was no big deal. I decided to just forget about it you know, it hurt my feelings but he didn't sin against me so its not like I'm supposed to forgive him. I mean how can I, he didn't do anything. I tried to forget about it for two years but I couldn't it kept on resurfacing. It was supposed to be gone, but it wasn't. I hadn't forgiven him. Forgetting may be similar to forgiving but its not the same. One definition of forget is to omit mentioning or leave unnoticed. That means its still their you just ignore it. Forgive is defined as to remit or cancel. So it is no more it no longer exists. One way to look at it is to imagine something written on a piece of paper. You don't want it their so get some white out and cover it up, but white out doesn't remove the words, their still there. Or you could take an eraser and totally remove them. Now there's no chance of those words coming back. Don't convince yourself that someone doesn't need to be forgiven, that you can just forget about it. You can't only God can.

For if ye forgive men their trespasses,

your heavenly Father will also forgive you

(Matthew 6:14)

A Spoonful of Sugar

Life can be hard to digest at times. Everyday something bad happens. Sometimes its little such as a stubbing your toe; other times it may ruin your whole day such as losing someone close to you. At times like this its sometimes hard to accept life and what its dealt you, you want to just run away and ignore it. It doesn't help though, eventually you have to swallow it and doesn't taste any better. Just like medicine you have to take it no matter how bad it is or how hard you try to get out of it , and also just like a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down , God can help us digest life. If we look to Him when bad things come our way its often easier to deal with. He will be there to comfort you when you lose a loved one or help you think straight when everyone else loses their heads. God will always be there to give us that spoonful of sugar when life deals us a bottle of medicine.

So do not fear,
for I am with you;
do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you
and help you;
I will uphold you
with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

God Bless the USA

July 4, 2009

I hope we all remember to stop and actually think
about today and what it means, rather than just run out
and pop smoke bombs, poppers, and rockets. Today is filled with mixed feelings for many people. For veterans, they might be thinking about the
significance of today and their service to our great country. To us, we should
remember that our flag still stands for freedom. We sould always respect
our country and flag, and our officials, and not only today but ever
day we sould pray for our officials, the president, vice president, mayor, and other important government figures.
Stop and Remember
9/11 and Signing the Declaration of independence, and the
freedoms that you enjoy every day that many have died to give
you thank our veterans and remember we live in God's
country.
God Bless the USA !

Nothing God Can't Handle

Sometimes its amazing what prayer can do. We hear about people miraculously healed or living through things they shouldn't. What we don't hear about are the little things that prayer does. Things like finding something that's been lost or showing which turn to take in a strange town. We think that He may be to busy to help with these things. The truth is He can always make time for you and He always will. Other times we think that our problems are to small for Him to bother with or that we can handle it on our own. Even though the problem seems small and easy it often isn't. We tend to go through a lot of trouble when God could easily have done it. There's nothing God cant or won't handle all we have to do is get on our knees and ask.

If you have any thoughts on this please feel free to comment.

Ask and it will be given to you
Seek and you will find
Knock and the door will be opened to you
For everyone who asks receives
And he who seek finds
And to him who knocks it will be opened
Matthew 7:7

Tickledpinks Favorite Songs

I love to listen to music no matter what im doing.
Whether it be sleeping, eating, reading or doing my school
I always like to have some music playing. I often
find the strength to continue in a song I hear on the radio.
Here is a list of some of my favorites:

  • Friend Like That by Hawk Nelson

  • Made to Love by TobyMac

  • Pure by Superchick

  • One Thing I Have Left by Hawk Nelson

  • Life is Good by Stellar Kart

  • Me and Jesus by Stellar Kart

  • Crazy Beautiful by Chasen

  • Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle

  • Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman

  • The Motions by Matthew West
Lots of these songs are played on Air1 and Klove

Nothing we cant handle

The first thing you think in the morning is that your not going to get mad at your brother today. Of course today he turns out to be triple annoying, you hold through till lunch then you just cant take it anymore. you give up, give in . the same thing happens again the next day, and the next, and the next. finnally you just give up. You cant hold through, it just gets worse everyday. why even try?

How often do we do this with God? we say we'll do it, and we do but we cant keep it up. in the end we get so tired of failling we give up all together. God says He will never give us something we cant handle. that means there has to be a way to work through it but how?

Do you know of any ways to push through?
any thoughts are welcome

Pure

I found a teen devotional that I found was really helpful about a year ago. It's titled "Pure" and it's by Rebecca St. James. Sometimes I have a hard time deciding what is pure or acceptable, and this book teaches about purity of the heart, body, and spirit. I would highly encourage this book to any teen girl to read. Rebecca is a godly woman who has insight on what is proper to dress and what is not, but she is also very stylish, without having to be immodest. Please feel free to comment.

What is faith? It seems like a simple question. But really what is faith? What does it mean to have faith in Christ? Why is faith important? How do you even come about having faith? Is faith nessaccary?
