The very first thing i ever posted on this blog was "What is Faith". I am now visiting this topic again. Recently i have really been struggling with my faith. Im just having a hard time finding GOD in my life and figuring out what what HE wants for me. I know, from hearing others who are older and more experienced than i, that all Christians go through this at various times in their life. That is why i am posting this, for anyone else who is trying to sort out their faith.
The Websters dictionary that we have at our house defines faith as "trust, confidence | complete acceptance of a truth which can not be demonstrated or proved by the process of logical thought".
The motto for this blog is Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is being sure of what we hope for.. and certain of what we do not see."
Faith is trusting GOD even when you can't see around the corner. When your in the middle of life's maze, and you know that the exit is the other direction from where your going, faith is believing that GOD will get you there safe and sound. Faith is holding on to GOD even when you don't have the strength to.
What do you think faith is? How do you find it when Satan is tossing you around like a hacky-sack? How do you keep a hold of it through life's toughest times? let us know what you think.
I don't have much more to say on this topic. If you have something to add please feel free to leave a comment. I know that a lot of us are scared or embarrassed to leave comments, but, lucky for you, there is this handy little Anonymous name tag that you can use so that no one will ever know its you!

I've struggled with my faith over time but I've never really doubted the existence of God - He was always a truth. Now, believing that I wanted to follow Him and not my own desires is quite a different matter! I think that finally maturing in my life and becoming less selfish and self-centered has helped me to become more centered in my faith, though I still have a long way to go!
ReplyDeleteEveryone doubts, and everyone struggles. Whats important is that you KNOW absolutely that there was a point in time where you committed your life to Jesus Christ, and made a decision and change to go the other direction in your actions, words, thoughts, etc. That you professed your faith in Christ basically. As long as you know you have, than I would say everyone at some point doubts. You just have to make it through the doubt, and trust God to bring you out of it.
ReplyDeleteHey!! you found the Anonymous name tag!! yay!! i know what you mean about GOD always being a truth, to me not believing in GOD is like not believing my own dad exists. thanks for leaving a comment!!
